The following awards are presented with a plaque at the Annual Awards Banquet or following Presidents and Principals Breakfast.

The following awards are presented with a plaque at the Annual Awards Banquet.

Outstanding PTA/PTSA Volunteer: Volunteers are the heart and soul of PTA/PTSA. The Orange County Council PTA Outstanding PRA Volunteer award honors an individual for outstanding effort on behalf of our children and youth. This award is given to an Elementary PTA, Middle School PTSA, and High School PTSA Outstanding Volunteer. Award_Community_Volunteer2010 application.

Outstanding PTA/PTSA: The Outstanding PTA/PTSA Award recognizes the local unit at the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels who are above and beyond the average PTA/PTSA.  Award_Outstanding_PTA 2010 application.

Outstanding “First Year” PTA/PTSA: This award is given to a newly chartered Elementary, Middle, and High School “first year” PTA/PTSA for their outstanding efforts on behalf of our children and youth. Award_1stYear2010 application.

The following awards are presented with a certificate at the Annual Awards Banquet.

Outstanding PTA/PTSA Community Collaboration: This award recognizes an Elementary School PTA, Middle School PTSA, and High School PTSA that does an outstanding community collaboration effort on behalf of our children and youth.  Award_Community_Collaboration  2010 application.

Outstanding PTA/PTSA School Partnership: The OCCPTA Outstanding PTA/PTSA School Partnership Awards are presented to local PTA/PTSA units who recruit an outside organization to do an outstanding program or underwrite a school function.   Award_Pat_Partnership2010 application.

Outstanding PTA/PTSA Website: The Outstanding PTA/PTSA Website award is given to an Elementary PTA, Middle School PTSA, and High School PTSA that creates an informational website in the vision and image of PTA.  Award_website 2010 application.

Outstanding PTA/PTSA Newsletter: The Outstanding PTA/PTSA Newsletter is given to an Elementary PTA, Middle School PTSA, and High School PTSA that best captures the voice and spirit of PTA/PTSA.  Award_Newsletter 2010 application.

Pat on the Back: This award is given to an Elementary, Middle, and High School PTA/PTSA that has demonstrated growth and improvement.  Award_Pat_Partnership 2010 application.

Acorn Award: An Acorn Award Certificate has been established to be given to the local PTA that has a majority of its faculty as members but, for some reason, cannot achieve 100%.  Award_Acorn 2010 application.

100% Faculty Membership Award: This includes principals, deans, teachers, librarians/media specialists, counselors, occupational specialists, curriculum assistants and all of the school based faculty and administrators of the school. Faculty membership dues must be paid to the state office before March 31 to qualify for this award.  Award_Faculty_Membership 2010 application.

Grandparent Silver/Gold Membership Award: PTAs that recruit ten to twenty-four members who are grandparents of students attending that particular school will receive a Grandparent Silver Membership Award. Those PTAs that recruit twenty-five or more grandparent members will receive the Grandparent Gold Membership Award. Award_Community_Grandparent 2010 application.

100% Membership Award: PTA membership equal to the number of families represented in the school will earn this certificate. Membership must be reported and dues paid to the state office before March 31 to qualify for this award. These are the guidelines for determining 100% membership award if school cannot supply number of families with children involved:

  • 75% of students for K-5 (6 year schools)
  • 75% of students for K-8 (7-9 year schools)
  • 80% of students for 3-4 year schools
  • 85% of students for 2 year schools
  • 95% of students for single grade centers

Our Founders Cared Award: Any local unit that has five past presidents from their unit that have become members can apply for this award.  Award_Our_Founders_Cared 2010 application.

Outstanding Principal of the Year: This award is to recognize a school principal who is supportive, helpful and personally involved in the PTA. The award will be given to an elementary and secondary Principal. Complete the form and let the judges decide if you have the Outstanding Principal of the Year.  Award_Principal 2010 application.

Community Membership Award: In order to bring into closer relations the school and community, i.e., places of worship, businesses, community leaders, etc., this award will be given to those PTAs that recruit twenty-five members from the community in addition to parents who also serve in community leadership positions. Award_Community_2010 application.

The deadline for OCCPTA Award Applications is March 10, 2010, at 4:00 pm. Each local PTA/PTSA unit must have current bylaws and membership paid to both the Florida PTA and the OCCPTA. OCCPTA dues are $50.00 and due by October 15, 2008.

Each application must have three (3) copies.

Local PTA/PTSA units may mail the applications.
